Jedi Mind Tricks – underground hiphop duets (Vinnie Paz un Stoupe The Enemy Of Mankind) no Filadelfijas. Par debijas albūmu uzskatāms 1996. gadā izdotais „Amber Probe EP”, vēlāk sekoja „The Psycho-Social, Chemical, Biological & Electro-Magnetic Manipulation of Human Consciousness” un „Violent By Design”, kuri jau ir kļuvuši par underground klasiku.

2001. gadā Jedi Mind Tricks saņēma piedāvājumu un tika parakstīti uz Babygrande Records. 2003. gadā tika izdots „Visions Of Gandhi”, 2004. gadā „Legacy Of Blood”.

Šogad Babygrande var lepoties ar vairākiem nozīmīgiem un kvalitatīviem albūmiem (Army Of The Pharaohs, Apathy, Agallah, Bronze Nazareth u.c.). Septembra rudens raža ir sanākusi īpaši laba, daudz (priekš indy leibla vienā mēnesī) un neviena sapuvuša ābola: Outerspace – Blood Brothers, Blue Sky Black Death – The Holocaust un Jedi Mind Tricks 5. albūms – Servants In Heaven, Kings In Hell… vah, liek sajūsmā kaukt!

Sākšu ar pirmajiem diviem singliem, kas bija dzirdami jau iepriekš: Heavy Metal Kings un Razorblade Salvation. Starp citu, lieki ir piebilst, ka Stoupe mīnusi (gandrīz visi) vienmēr (I mean it) ir bijuši, manuprāt, ļoti augstā līmenī, tāpēc mīnusu tēma būs zip(ā)/rar(ā).

Heavy Metal Kings – piedalās Ill Bill, kura balss, nezin kāpēc, man šoreiz likās rupjāka nekā parasti (iespējams, ka es vienkārši sen neesmu klausijes Bilu un esmu aizmirsis kā viņš skan, hohoho), bet „nometa” viņš labi: Without order nothing exists, without chaos nothing evolves / Now get on your knees so I can stick this gun in your mouth / I’m a Slayer album personified, Holocaust, Columbine / Middle Passage, Israel versus Palestine / It’s the cult leader, drink your Kool Aid / Run with the doctors that produced AIDS / I open my mouth, I shoot flames / A freedom fighter that got the whole world terrified / Ill Bill, human manifestation of genocide… u.t.t. savā stilā! Tev likās, ka Tu dzirdēji Prodigy (Mobb Deep)?! Viņš šeit ir iesamplēts un saka piedziedājumā(?!): The heavy metal king hold big shit. Nezinu ko viņš ar to gribēja pateikt. Nevermind, let’s go further!

Razorblade Salvation – Sufjan Stevens dziesmas „Dumb I Sound” interpretācija, piedalās Shara Worden (My Brighest Diamond). Smuka un bēdīga dziesma par cīņu ar sevi, ciešanām, nāvi un nemirstību. Pasniegta kā vēstule mātei: „Mommy, I am sorry if my first letter made you cry / To be honest with you, I dont think that I want to die / Sometimes I feel like that I am cancerous in others lives / Thats probably why I drink at night and sleep til four or five”... Pēc pirmā panta ir runa: „Better to die, and sleep / The never-waking sleep, than linger on / And dare to live when the soul’s life is gone” (Sofokls – antīkās Grieķijas dramaturgs).

Shadow Business – manuprāt ļoti spēcīga dziesma. Tēma: sistēma un verdzība (āzijas valstīs, kur ražo tavas un manas Nike botiņas). Slavery is not illegal, thats a fucking lie / Its illegal, unless its for conviction of a crime / The main objective is to get you in your fucking prime / And keep the prison full and not give you a fucking dime / But they the real criminal, keeping you confined / For a petty crime, but they give you two-to-nine / And aint nobody there to protect ya / Except a bunch of incompetent human rights inspectors. Piedziedājums: Is life worth living if you living in Hell? / When the mind is confined to a prisoner cell? And the lies they devise and the system, it fail / But I expect the system to fail.

Serenity In Murder – šeit kaut kas līdzīgs Reprezentam, tikai ar negāciju… es esmu tāds un šitāds, ja Tu man tuvosies es ar tevi izdarīšu to un šito, un vispār, ja Tu būtu manī laicīgi klausījis iepriekš...! Piedziedājums (ja to tā var nosaukt) sastāv no 4 izpildītāju teksta sampliem, 2 atpazinu: „Its not a fluke, its been tried, I am the troop” /Dr.Dre – Still D.R.E./ un „We been adored for keeping it raw” /Mobb Deep – Quiet Storm/, atlikušajiem („A lot of rappers out here acting with no movie roles” un „Everything is real I see”) autorus nezinu.

Black Winter Day – stāsts par slimu cilvēku, pārējais nāk automātiski: alkohols, apgrūtinājums priekš citiem, vientulība, depresija… un vienmēr ir iespēja izvēlēties citu ceļu. Sad!

Put Them In The Grave – atkal Reprezents. Tēma: Es kruts, Tu – nē... I am nice with the glock, nicer with the semis and Tecs / But I am nicest when I am clapping at my enemies necks / They tend to regret ever sending me threats / Cause they know the only thing that they could send me is checks… Šeit atkal parādās zināmi sampli:
“So who the next to get it?” /Fat Joe/, “You aint gotta go to church to get to know your God” /Jay-Z/ un “I will take the life of anybody trying to change whats left / Then lift up your whole hood like you got oil under it” /Mobb Deep/

Outlive The War – piedalās Ruck (Heltah Skeltah) a.k.a. Sean Price un Block McCloud. Vienīgais ko es šeit gribu uzrakstīt ir tas, ka mīnuss ir brilliant! Pirmo reizi klausoties atstāj smaidu sejā, gluži kā Blood In, Blood Out no Visions Of Gandhi un pārņem Ziemassvētku sajūtas – mandarīni, piparkūkas, sarkanvīns.

Uncommon Valor: A Vietnam Story – piedalās R.A. the Rugged Man (nebiju nekad viņu dzirdējis, traki skaita). Ideja līdzīga kā Immortal Technique – Peruvian Cocaine, Vjetnama, Vinnie Paz ir kareivis, kurš ir nobijies, nožēlo, ka ir nogalinājis civilos, grib mājās, katru nakti lūdz Dievu, lai paliktu dzīvs, savukārt R.A. the Rugged Man ir no kara atkarīgs seržants, kurš izklāsta šīs nodarbes „patīkamās” puses: Soothin drug abusin, Vietnamese women screwin / Sex, gambling and boozin, all this shit is amusin / Bitches and guns, this is every mans dream / I dont wanna go home where Im just an ordinary human being. Spēcīga dziesma.

Kopsummā: This aint fire. Its the entire earth burning!
